A lei is usually given with a kiss. It represents love. A symbol of affection. Lei is to be never treated casually, tossed away - like throwing away the love of the giver. They are to be returned to a place they were gathered, returned to the earth - on a tree, on the ground - where it was nurtured and cared for.

Delicate. sensitive. nurturing. Let us treat each other as individual pedals on a lei, united - for there is a need for our humanity to be in greater harmony with each other and with Mother Earth.
